Coronavirus Business Continuity at MacStadium
MacStadium has a robust business continuity strategy to ensure the continuation of critical services to our customers across the globe. Read updates about our COVID-19 policies here.
Update March 17, 2020:
MacStadium has activated our business continuity plans globally to ensure seamless operations throughout this situation, including provisions for ensuring all data centers remain fully operational and are furnished with the necessary equipment and supplies.
While all MacStadium co-location data centers are in full operation, we have implemented several precautionary procedures that reflect the company’s focus on:
- The health and safety of our customers, partners, vendors, and employees
- The continuity of our services
- Compliance with governmental regulations and public health guidance currently in place to address the situation
These precautions include preparations to minimize the risk of impact within our data centers around the globe as well as to keep our customers and employees safe.
- Only business critical personnel will be allowed on-site
- Business critical personnel will be on-site on an as needed basis
- MacStadium has engaged business critical vendors and partners to ensure necessary supplies and services will continue to be provided or are on standby in the case of a long-term event
- MacStadium associates experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms including fever, or having knowledge of being exposed to someone who has been tested for or diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, will not be allowed to enter MacStadium and partner facilities until complying with governmental regulations and public health guidelines.
In addition, MacStadium is closely following the recommendations of local public health authorities as well as local landlord requirements in all of our locations globally.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation throughout this current situation. We will continue to closely monitor this situation at a global level and will keep you informed of any significant changes to these guidelines and procedures. Like many of you, the team at MacStadium has been closely monitoring the news around the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. Our commitment to our customers, availability of service we provide, and the health of our employees is paramount. Keeping all of this in mind, MacStadium maintains a robust business continuity strategy to balance these priorities and ensure the continuation of critical services to our customers across the globe.
We do not anticipate any service degradation or disruption during this outbreak.
- At this time, we are 100% business as usual, maintaining on-site staffing at all five of our global data centers where their presence is needed for typical operations. Employees that can satisfy their duties remotely may do so in conjunction with our well-established remote-work policies and technologies.
- If it becomes necessary to ensure employee safety or comply with government requests, we may reduce on-site staffing in the most impacted areas. This will be done according to existing business continuity plans, which ensure some on-site presence at each data center, if at all possible.
- We will keep customers updated on any relevant information via our status page. You can always monitor the uptime and incident status of our services at http://status.macstadium.com/
It is also worth noting that all of our data centers and the services we provide are engineered for resiliency and redundancy by default. In addition, most support functions, such as monitoring, firewall configurations, network maintenance, and even individual server power resets, can be supported remotely. These architecture decisions help us ensure a high level of service for our customers.
Additionally, all of our supply chain partners are fully functioning today, and we maintain high levels of inventory reserves for all critical components to ensure the ability for customers to grow, if necessary.
We will continue to follow the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other health authorities regarding the spread of the virus. All non-essential employees may work from home to practice social distancing and self-quarantine.
