MacStadium Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

Independent audit verifies that MacStadium meets the global standard for information security best practices and risk management.

MacStadium, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise-class hosting solutions for Apple Mac infrastructure, today announced that the company has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification. The internationally recognized security certification includes the assets, technologies, and processes employed by MacStadium within its facilities for the development, operation, administration, and delivery of the MacStadium infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to its customers.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification was earned following an external audit of MacStadium’s information security policies and practices, performed by Coalfire ISO, Inc., a certification body accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB). In order to meet the ISO standard, a company must display that it exercises best practices, deploys effective security controls, and maintains resilient processes required for a robust Information Security Management System protecting sensitive information. With this certification, MacStadium is recognized to fully conform with the ISO 27001 security standard and has established a formal program to maintain the certification in future years.

“The ISO 27001 certification underscores our commitment to providing effective threat detection and rapid incident response capabilities in a secure cloud environment,” said Greg McGraw, MacStadium’s CEO. “By going through the audit processes and achieving this and other security certifications, we provide our customers with extra assurance that MacStadium consistently safeguards its infrastructure, systems, and information. Companies working with any cloud or IaaS provider hosting sensitive information such as un-compiled source code or customer data should insist that they are working with providers that are ISO 27001 certified, like MacStadium.”
